Manthan Adhyayan Kendra was set up under the Manthan Research and Social Development Society, a society registered under the Societies Act in Madhya Pradesh. It has approval under Sec. 12 A and under Sec. 80 G of the Income Tax Act. Currently, the members on Board of Manthan Society are:

- Chinmay Mishra (Social and Cultural Activist)
- Nandini Oza (Social Activist)
- Gaurav Dwivedi (Researcher)
- Shripad Dharmadhikary (Social Activist and Researcher)
- Rehmat (Social Activist and Researcher)
- Mahesh Sharma (Social activist and farmer)
Currently, Manthan Adhyayan Kendra is also affiliated with Program for Social Action (PSA) and various programs on Water Privatisation, Inland Waterways, Coal and Water, Water Policy etc are being run as a part of the PSA network activities.
