The Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation had set up, in Sept 2015, a committee to suggests ways of restructuring the two most important organisations of the Ministry, namely the Central Water Commission and the Central Groundwater Board. The Report of the Committee, released in August 16, has recommended extensive restructuring including the setting up of a new National Water Commission. Given here are Manthan’s comments on the reports. Manthan was also a member of one of the sub-committees constituted by the Committee for providing inputs to it.
