This section consists of databases of Projects and Programs in India involving privatisation and commercialisation of the water sector. It has four parts each in a separate file.
Part I:
Hydropower projects involving Private Sector Participation (PSP).
Part II:
Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) projects involving Private Sector Participation (PSP).
Part III:
Water Sector Reforms being undertaken in various states of India. These reforms, initiated as part of World Bank and / or Asian Development Bank loans, typically involve commercialisation and marketisation of the sector, along with PSP.
Part IV:
Failed privatisation projects in water supply and sanitation from around the world.
What’s New This Month
The databases are updated every month, and the file "What’s New – Database Month Year" lists the changes incorporated in the databases in that particular month. This is to help those who regularly browse these databases and need only to know what has been changed.
The databases themselves are current to the month and the information listed in "What’s New – Database Month Year" has already been incorporated in the main database files.
We wish to clarify that these databases are not comprehensive, as data is not always easily available, though we are doing our best to seek and incorporate information about all such projects and programs. We welcome information and feedback.
